My favourite museum in town is this photography museum, which is located within two monumental canal houses. They have housed some of the most inspiring modern photography exhibitions, including the works of Rineke Dijkstra, Viviane Sassen, Jamie Hawkesworth as well as new talents such as Julie Greve. Wandering through the houses and its beautiful garden and garden house always make me feel very relaxed and inspired. I also love the library, in which I can spend hours browsing though their beautiful collection of photography books.

This cult cinema is located in a former anatomical laboratory, and offers an inspiring programme of unconventional films, documentaries, art house and modern classics. I only recently discovered this place and love picking a random film from their programme and be surprised and inspired. They also offer a dinner & film combination, as well as meditation classes (which are in English and open for all levels), which I would both love to try some time soon.

The best shop with a beautifully curated selection of some of my favourite brands, including Lemaire, Acne Studios, Totême and Jacquemus. The owner has great taste and a strong eye for beautiful pieces and brands. I love its location just outside the usual shopping route and the relaxed vibe in the shop, which makes it a beloved spot for locals. Bonus: they have a great selection of menswear too.

For years I’ve been going to Mick’s jeans atelier to get my perfect fitted jeans. Mick has stacks of original Levi’s 501 jeans, in a variety of shades and washings. After picking your favourite, he tailors them to fit perfectly. Since I bought my first jeans at Mick, I’ve never wanted anything else and now have a small collection of perfectly fitted jeans in my closet. If you want one, don’t forget to book an appointment in advance, as Mick’s jeans are in high demand.

This restaurant is located at the edge of a park, away from the centre in a secluded former church and is a hidden gem. I love coming here during summer, as there is a big terrace and garden, but the beautiful interior also makes it a lovely place to come during winter. The menu is shaped by the season and includes high quality local products, partially from their own herb garden. They cook on an open fire in a wood oven, and have their own bakery that makes the most delicious sourdough bread.
