Louis Vuitton Resort 2017 was presented yesterday at the Museum of Contemporary Art (designed by Oscar Niemeyer) in Niteròi, Rio de Janeiro and it sure looked like magic.
The collection includes racing influences, graphic patterns, ruffled pieces, scuba-like detailing, cut outs, flip-flops (Eytys have the perfect ones if you can’t wait until next year), sequined silver scarves and boombox bags (yes, you can actually play music with them!). I think this is one of my absolute favourite collections from Nicolas Ghesquière’s end at Louis Vuitton, you can definitely spot some influences from his time at Balenciaga, like the two toned ruffles, use of high tech materials in sophisticated dresses, the pointed toes ankle boots (remember?) etc. I’m all for it.
